Unusual gray!

BESAME Sindarinwa

ARI# 31916103   D.O.B. 8/26/2011  (6 yrs)

Suri, Female, Unproven | Dark Silver Grey

3/4 Peruvian, 1/4 Bolivian
Sire: Captain Morgan's BlackBeard | ARI# 1231724  | True Black
Dam: Sierra Bonita's Peruvian Storm Girl | ARI# 847825  | True Black |

Sindy was a bit of a surprise, coming from the breeding of two true blacks - while she was reddish on the outside from amniotic staining, underneath she started out a solid, charcoal gray on much of her body. Her blanket is almost black, but she clearly has areas of gray in her fleece. After shearing, her chin, neck, chest and belly are definitely gray, while her blanket remains almost black (but seems to be shading back to gray as she grows out). She's not related to most of the modern grays you find out there, with no hint of Condor in her lineage. She would be a great buy for anyone looking to breed modern grays. Like her mother, Sindy has incredibly soft and fine fiber, under 17 micron in her first year. Her first shearing fiber stats are AFD 16.59ยต, an SD of 3.65 and a CV of 22.0.

Sindy placed second behind a light brown in the combined dark class at North American. Unfortunately, she had to be pulled from he show string before MAPACA when she sprained a pastern, but she has recovered nicely and will be shown this fall.

Second place, combined dark juvenile female full fleece halter, 2012 North American Alpaca Show
First place, gray juveniles, 2012 Suri Symposium Spinoff (scored 92/100 points)
2012 Fiber Results (Alpaca Consulting USA)
