Ára just placed fifth in the mature fawn females at the 2017 Suri Network Fleece Show, but it was a remarkably competitive class! She scored 17.5/20 for handle and fineness, with the judge commenting "maintaining good handle and fineness." Good job for a six year old girl!

Ára ("dawn") entered the world at a whopping 23.2 pounds after her mother was induced when cria movement seemed to have stopped and temperatures were pushing 100°. No wonder we didn't see movement - this young lady was too big to move! Even though her dam's milk took a few days to come in after the induction, Ára had an excellent IgG and gained steadily, as her dam milks like a cow. We expect Ára will inherit the excellent maternal characteristics of her line as well. She is a calm, easy to handle female with a very pleasant demeanor.

Ára is a strong boned, healthy young female, with a well locked, fleecy head courtesy of her sire, a Pacific Pride son. She is quite a looker, with abundant locks and luster, as well as coverage right down to her toes. Her histogram at nine months reported an AFD of 18.54µ with an SD of 4.66 yielding a CV of 25.11. Her second shearing stats are equally enticing: AFD of 19.95, an SD of 4.52 and a CV of 22.68.

There were almost 300 suris at the 2012 MAPACA Jubilee, with some of the best farms from across the country in the ring - and Ára went toe to toe with some of them in a class that Tim Lavan said was quality all the way through, with only very minor characteristics separating the places. Tim emphasized Ára's luster as some of the best in the class, and also praised her uniform, well locked fleece - but since her butt was ahead of her shoulders, that was enough to bump her down in the placings! It was an honor to take a fifth in the company she was in. Once sheared, her juvenile fleece took first, highest scoring and Judge's Choice at the 2012 Suri Symposium Spinoff. In her regrowth, Ára took first place in halter and Bred and Owned at the Empire Trifecta. Her yearling fleece just took first and highest scoring in the MAPACA spinoff, too.

Ára has been bred to our very dense Sirius Black son, BESAME Kemen, for a summer, 2014 cria. This should be an outstanding baby, with fineness and luster on both sides, as well as the possibility of deep color. We can't wait! She's here! Ára's little girl is absolutely stunning, a deep brown that's the spitting image of her father and totally full of vim and vigor. Ára has been a doting mother with a great milk supply, so we are delighted.

Ára sells with a complimentary breeding that can be used for her or any of your wholly owned females.
