Tar-Calion is a beautiful light brown, 1/2 Accoyo male with stunning luster and an under 18 micron fleece in his second year. His mother is an extremely fine, true black MacGyver daughter who has produced a number of champions, including our own Annasiny√ę. His sire is our WRSR Peruvian Payday, who has been passing on excellent luster without fail, as well as strong conformation and the fleece characteristics his line (Accoyo Baccarat) is known for. Cali has excellent luster, good coverage and density. He has a nice beard and topknot on a typey head, and is all male even though he's one of the youngest in his pasture.

Cali took the combined dark male championship at the North American Alpaca Show, after placing first in the juvenile class. The youngest male in the color group at just over seven months, he was praised by Peter Kennedy for his luster, uniformity and density - Cali was also the finest male in his class. Cali then placed fifth at MAPACA, where his age worked against him in a class of much older males. Nonetheless, we are delighted with him - his half sister last year was a reserve champion at MAPACA, and so Cali joins a long list of champion offspring by his dam Storm Girl. We hope he is the first of many for his sire, Payday, as well.

Cali placed second (behind his field mate, Kemen) in the brown juvenile class at the 2011 Suri Network Spinoff, receiving 93.25/100 total points. The judge commented "beautiful suri" and "really nice soft hand." Despite placing third in his class in the VAOBA Spinoff, he also received the Judge's Choice ribbon!
