Pica, our first "grandcria," is soft, very fine and lustrous like her two half brothers – she is the third cria sired by our WRSR Peruvian Payday (Accoyo Baccarat lines), and we continue to be delighted with what he is producing. Pica is white with a single dark brown spot on her neck, and weighed 21 pounds at birth. She was running around with the “big” boys right from the get go and has been very active and independent.

Pica has excellent luster, increased density over her dam and very tight, unform locks on a typey suri frame. She has good conformation and bite, and should make a solid production dam. Pica performed nicely in the ring at North American, taking third place in a tough class of six. Her luster placed her in the top half of the class, along with her uniformity - another win for a Payday cria! We did not bring her to MAPACA solely because of her colored spot on her neck - in every other way, she is a lovely female.

Pica is showing interest in the boys now, and we hope to breed her this summer to one of our colored herdsires. She should make an excellent mother, as have all the females in her line. Her second shearing is still under 18 micron, and her handle is lovely. We look forward to her passing her fleece characteristics to her offspring.
