Louie is a beautiful medium brown daughter by our herdsire Kemen. She has a sweet temperament and the excellent fiber characteristics of both parents. She will be a super foundation female once she has matured - her mother has great maternal instincts. She dropped immediately this spring when introduced to our visiting stud Our Burnished Hope, and we think they will produce a spectacular cria.

Louie's name means "flood" in Elvish, in honor of Dr. Flood who untorsed her dam during delivery. Poor Louie squirted out like a watermelon seed once her mother was untwisted, and we think that the pressure she was under is the likely cause of a cataract that developed in her left eye. Our vet doesn't think it's hereditary and has urged us to breed Louie when she's ready. However, her price does reflect that she is not sound in both eyes.

Louie's heritage is too complicated for OpenHerd's tabs - she is 21/32 Peruvian, 3/16 Bolivian and 5/32 Chilean - I think that makes her all American!
